About Ed
There were three pivotal times in my life that have defined and charted my course in coaching, being in service to others, and more specifically, focusing on stress relief coaching. The first came in 1969 when I met the Maharish Mahesh Yogi and began what is now a 42 year practice in meditation. I traveled the globe lecturing and teaching thousands to meditate and learn profound techniques to relax the mind and body.
My second most profound encounter came when I studied with Dr. Miguel Ruiz, author of ”The Four Agreements.” I studied with Miguel for over 11 years and learned the ancient “Toltec” cognitive skills of the dreaming mind. At that point in my personal development I was well on my way to mastery; that is until January of 2001 when I faced my greatest challenge ever.
When my lower back went out with a severe disc problem my whole life collapsed. I could not work or support my family. I was unable to walk or stand and was confined to bed in terrible pain. The pain was inflamed by worry that my life would never be the same, and it didn’t help that I felt as if I had lost all control over what was going to happen to my family and me.
I began to focus my intention to find a way to work on reducing the stress that I was creating through my pain and fear. If I could do that then I could deal with the pain, the surgery and the recovery that was miles ahead of me. The answer came to me early one sleepless night, as I prayed to God for understanding, rushing for something to write with so not to lose it. I promised that if I was successful I would share it with others.
I’ve kept my promise every since.
I reside in Los Angeles with my wife Rita, daughter Jennifer, and romeo (our cat)
Warmly,
Ed
